Do you ever get paranoid of ppl talking about you?
I just wanted to know if anyone gets paranoid or anxious and think people are talking about them.
I mean someone could be smiling and saying something nice about me to someone else next to them, but I'll think they're saying something bad because I can't hear what they're saying.
I know not everyone is self-conscious or paranoid, etc but I'm just interested on what ATRLthink. Is it a normal, human reaction or is it something isolated to the individual?
Thoughts?

Nah. I try not to give a single **** about what people have to say/what people think about me.
Sometimes I get self-conscious (around the gays), but I snap out of it within seconds and go back and enjoy my time.

I have social and generalized anxiety so I can't help but think people are talking about me or get paranoid.

If two people are looking at me while talking to each other, and it's clear that I'm the topic of their conversation, then I'll just stare at them until they stop talking. The awkwardness goes back on them. They know that I know they're talking about me and they've been caught out. Then they'll just sit there in silence, no longer talking to each other, trying to quickly come up with a change of topic, and I'll look at them like:
And make them feel even worse, like I'm going "um, I can hear you, idiots."
But if I just see two people talking, with no eye contact directed at me, I don't assume it's about me.

All the time, like when people stare at me I always think they're thinking to themselves, wow he's hideous or something awful. But eh, people are always gonna stare so give them something to stare at. If I know a certain person is talking about me, I'll make it known that I know, the awkwardness is brilliant

Only if they're looking/staring at me while talking and continue to take glances back and forth. Then I become bothered cause I don't really like that.
If people are just having a casual conversation, then I don't worry about that.

I couldn't give less ****s about that, like words are not hurtful to me, after all they are just words.

This is smart. I wanna do this, but I can imagine some ghetto person being like, "Bitch who the **** are you starring at?"

Everyone talks about everyone. That's life. Even if it is about you, if it's not brought to your attention, what difference does it make?

Then you maintain eye contact with them and say "the ugliest person I've ever seen in my life. I'll tell you about it later...they're still staring at me."

Great advice, I like that, turning it around.

I know but it makes me feel self-conscious like there's something wrong with me, and I'd rather know what it is, so I can get closure or answers and at least be aware
There are times that I wish I could live in ignorant bliss and not give a ****.

Yes, I always do. Especially at school, I'm scared of what people think about me everyday and also about the fact that I'm gay and what I wear.

No, because everyone talks about everyone. With the amount of **** I talk about other people, I expect the same amount to be spoken about me. If you can dish it, you should be able to take it.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but i only detract this when people start to say things about you to impress others, and when they're in front of your face they do the opposite to impress you.
