When people I'm straight they mean they're heterosexual right?
The opposite of straight would be gay right?
But what's the real meaning of the word "straight"?

So if something is bend or curved or crooked it means its not straight?
But people don't like when things aren't straight, like your posture has to be straight, your tie has to be straight, the frame on the wall has to be straight,
So things have to be straight to be right cause if they are not they are wrong.
When something is bend or crooked, people fix it to be straight so it looks good cause if its bend or crooked it looks bad right?
So when people say something like" Oh, I'm not gay. I'm straight!" is that offensive to gays? Are they actually saying "there's nothing wrong with me"? "I don't need to be fixed"? "I'm right/okay"?
And then they say "Oh, you're gay" do they actually mean "Oh, there's something wrong with you"? "that's not right"?, "You're not okay"?
So my question is, is the word "straight" when used in sexuality offensive to gays? and could it also be an insult towards them?
