Don Benjamin to release debut EP!

NH: You are just modeling but I noticed you're a music artist. I watched a few of your music videos, are you working an album or a mixtape?
DB: I'm actually working on an EP right now will have about seven tracks. I hope to drop that around October or November [2014], but right now I'm releasing singles with a few artist. I just put one song out with Elijah Blake "Doing It Well", and I have another single coming out with Eric Bellinger next month. I've just been working with a lot of singer making some smooth R&B joints.
NH: Always keeping it smooth for the ladies. What was it like to work with another talented artist in Eric Bellinger?
DB: We've known each other a good while, just through mutual friends and the party scene. It's all about timing so I finally got a record that I felt would be perfect for him and shot it to. He was more than with it, and plus I shot for his t-shirt line that he has so it all came together. Eric is dope, he's hot right now and he's on everybody's project if he's not singing on it he's writing on it. So it was incredible to have him on my project.
NH: Speaking of your album, you have a Kickstarter campaign going, tell us more about that?
DB: Right now since I'm doing the independent route I'm funding my whole project. I thought it would be dope if I let my fans be apart of the process. Just like if Drake put out an album and I put $5 towards that album I'm going to feel like hey I had something to do with that album. So I'm letting my fans be apart of my album, but they're also going to get things back as well. Like doing dinner dates or a bunch of signed posters, just doing a bunch of cool stuff because I want to let all my fans be apart of the project and it would be a cool process.
His music is inspired by everyday life he has experienced himself or watched other go through. His goal is provide inspiration in whatever he does, where the world can relate to every step of his journey. Benjamin is also venturing out into the film world, where he currently is reviewing a few scripts.
Benjamin has started a clothing line The Societe, and desires to work with Jheno Aiko, and several other artists over the course of his career.
