Lee will be accompanied by EVANESCENCE guitarist Terry Balsamo during the performance, which will be taped on February 23 in Nashville, Tennessee.
"Legends & Lyrics" is distributed and presented by American Public Television and will appear on PBS stations nationwide starting April 2009 (check local listings).

I would love for them to play Sweet Sacrifice as acoustic, the only single they haven't played in that format. Though it would be better if it was some new material, Ev material or Amy Solo don't care whichever it goes as long as it's new, but I doubt it.

Okay, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If this show is signifying that Amy Lee is a legend, er, hold your horses. But it might be interesting enough for a watch.

The show is not about declaring someone as legend or whatever, it is about songwriters or artists who writes hit music for themselves or others.

From http://www.legendsandlyrics.com/about

Each weekly show includes the following segments:
* Recording Artists and Song Poets telling the story of the creation of the song and then performing their greatest hit songs and new releases.
* “Out of the Box” interviews with each artist/song poet.
* “Did You Know? Historical Facts” addressing the ancient origins and interesting facts about today’s commercial music.
* “Legendary Recording Artist” or “Legendary Song Poets” interviews with those of “Legend” status.
* “Rising Stars” featuring undiscovered recording artist/song poets.
* “Tips of the Week” for aspiring song poets.

Here's some more information about what happened during the event.

OK, I know these are low quality, but since there was a strict no camera policy, I had to take the shots with my camera phone. I know some people broke out their real cameras at the end, so better shots are out there. But this should tide you over until those appear...
About the new song. I think Amy said she's never played the song before. So whether or not it was the "Your Love" song she played a few months ago is still suspect. She had to play the song two and a half times. The 1/2 time was because a camera man dropped his battery pack, and it made a much louder noise that one would think. The first full run through it, she wasn't happy with the take. She felt guilty having to put everyone through hearing it a third time, but as far as I'm concerned, she could've played it five more times and I'd be happy.
I like what Gavin DeGraw and Dwight Yoakam said after hearing it. I forgot the exact words. But DeGraw said something about it being a really addictive "piano riff." And Yoakam said when he heard the chrous the second time through, it was already stuck in his head. And he referenced something Alice Cooper said about knowing when you have a hit song on your hands. He said he's not trying to jinx her, but it has all the makings of a big hit. And then when Amy played it a final time through, she looked over to Gavin DeGraw who had already memorized the chrous lyrics. She saw him singing along to himself and it made her laugh. I'm not sure if that tripped her up or not, but it was a pretty funny moment.
Congrats to Tim, as well, for helping write such a great tune.

Why are you calling her the "Evanescence singer"? We all know that's Amy Lee.

 Did Amy cut her HAIR!?
I'm glad to hear she's gotten some new material out there. If I recall correctly, I read somewhere that Evanescence has a three-album contract. However, I could be mistaken, the source could be wrong, or it is slightly possible that I dreamt that. I have had some pretty realistic Evanescence dreams, haha.
ANYWAYS. Can't wait to see the episode!

I prefer Amy Lee to go solo, because she basically like runs the band.
I hope she or Evanescence will be back in the game!

Even though she is the only original member left (from the original 3 David, Ben and Amy), technically Evanescence is still considered a band since Terry have worked (wrote) with Amy (along with John) on the second album and the whole band performed on it unlike in FALLEN where they had session musicians fill in on the drums and guitars, whereas Tim (the new bassist) have already collaborated on a new song. Supposed Terry is still with Evanescence, not sure about Tim but he could be when and if the 3rd album comes. General audience or fans may disagree, but Evanescence is still a band, just a band that has a lot of line up changes in the past (common to other bands too).

Yup, she cut her hair. Here's a picture of her and Paula Cole after she guessed on Paula's concert.
As for the new song, the working title is "Your Love" and is also the song that she performed during the Songwrtier Award.
Here's what one of the people who attended the show had to say about the new song.

The song itself is GORGEOUS, very classic Evanescence. Melodic and haunting, very moving. It was like 1am at that point, so I doubt anyone can give you much more detail than that! Lyrics were great, and as hard as I try to remember, nothing comes back.
Waiting is hard- but it's worse for us who heard it! Such a tease to listen and then not be able to again! But knowing it is coming is better than not knowing when there will be more/new music.

Terry was recording with Limp Bizkit for a short time last year. Also, Dark New Day broke up, as far as I know.
