Tech: Help with MP4 Player (need super smart people)

Ok, here's the problem.
I have a mp4 player called MS Fantasy.
Today, for the first time, I connected it to the PC. After disconnecting it it showed a frozen picture. From then on it won't play music, actually it doesn't allow me to enter the music folder at all. It also doesn't even show letters anymore, it just shows squares. I don't know is this important but maybe I should mention while it was connected to the PC I (through PC) deleted everything in the folder, and even though I deleted everything it still writes that only 500MB are free from 4GB. I thought about reseting the system but I can't find it in settings because there are no letters, only squares. It won't play videos either. I can only play games and listen to the radio on it.

Why don't you use a smart phone instead of the MP4 music player

Do the squares appear everywhere, even outside of VLC? If so, you might want to navigate your way to Languages on your computer, and reset it to English (or what ever language you were using prior).

I thought my phone battery will last longer if I don't listen to my music on it so I got a MP4, plus I gotta turn the phone off in the planes.

the squares are only on my MP4 player, I used the VLC pic as an example

my PC is on english, and so was my MP4

Whilst the battery thing makes sense, you don't have to turn your phone off on planes.
Every phone that plays video will have an airplane mode.

OT: you're probably best off talking to whoever made the mp4 on their helpline purely because i've never heard of an MS player so i'd presume they're not that popular and most of atrl wont have a clue.

Damn, if it had been a PC problem, I could have helped, but I don't have a lot of experience with MP4. Have you tried searching on the web and seeing if there are forums dedicated to your MP4 or a customer service number you can call that can help?

It does, I just carry a mophie around with me & one for my school locker if I ever need it

well thanks for trying, I'm just like you, I could fix anything on PC but I don't know **** about MP4 players

The MS players aren't popular at all, I discovered that now, I don't know what was I thinking

This is why you shouldn't buy cheap electronic products... I'd suggest you listen music on your smartphone, or save money and purchase an iPod (Classic or Shuffle, depending on how big your music collection is).

Check in the user manual or look up one online on how to do a hard reset , it may fix the problem but it will delete everything from scratch
