Her music is radio friendly but shifting genres could alienate a lot of your core fanbase so SIO and WANEGBT are risky in that sense

Taylor is different all the time with her style, her music. She could've just kept it up with Country songs/ballads, that she knows she'll be praised for & thats SAFE.

I agree. Safe would have been another Love Story/Dear John. I think her shift to pop is risky in the sense that she's risking her traditional style/fanbase for pop. She did it knowing full well some audiences would accuse her of "selling out" and she did it anyway.

However, Max Martin and Shellback are safe bets in terms of pop production. Yet, like others have said, Taylor isn't out there for shock value or avant garde music.
