After the recent decline in The Simpsons viewing figures, is it really time that the classic cartoon finishes? Since the late 90's, people have claimed that the Simpsons were getting tired and that they were bringing out "zany, unrealistic story lines", that was in 1997. When you look at today's episodes compared to 1997's episodes, you wonder what they were going on about. The last episode aired was "Lisa The Drama Queen", this is The Simpsons lowest viewers with on 5.75 million viewers. The five lowest viewing figures of all time from the show, have all been from Season 19 or 20. With story lines like Lisa becoming a Cross Word Queen and Bart getting Denis Leary's mobile phone, you wonder where the hell they're pulling these boring, unrealistic story lines from. The show is getting so dried up that they are stealing ideas from other shows. Example: in the episode "Mypods and Boomsticks" they use the same plot as an episode from American Dad, where Bart becomes friends with a muslim and Homer believes what all his friends say and believe him and his family are terrorists. Even the Horror episodes are boring as hell too. In the South Park episode "The Simpsons Did It", they claimed that The Simpsons had used all realistic plots and that no one could use a plot because The Simpsons did it. Not so true now. Is this show doomed now to failure? I give it one more season before being cancelled.
