I'll admit, her album was bad [except Home, Open Toes & Love Story], and she was a over all flop. But I really think she has a really good voice, don't know if she will be big like other Idol Albums like Kelly, Carre, Jordin, Daughtry but IDK I just am not totally putting her into the flop pile. I have my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath. Again, I am a fan of hers, she has a great voice, but her last album was far from good IMO.

Yeah, and it was due to the low sales of her debut album. Hopefully, she'll have better luck on this new label.

Not necessarily, they could venture out into the pop world with Kat and experiment and keep the Jazzy feel they are familiar with in each of the songs but still keep it modern and relevant.

Well, maybe, but I think this would be a very risky move for them because they must have like no experience in the Pop world and how to manage an artist on it and if they don't know how to do it well they can lose like a lot of money, so I don't know...

Verve Records is a sub-label under Universal Records that moreso focuses on jazz influenced artists. Two artists that you guys may know signed to verve are Jamie Cullum and Ledisi. Not huge names really here, but Cullum just co-wrote "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood for the movie of the same name, and Ledisi was a nominee in the Best New Artist category last year at the Grammy's.

Hopefully this is good news for Katharine, she doesn't deserve to be one of the Idol's that flopped. She's brilliant.

Oh and she's the first and only Idol to ever get dropped from a major label and then picked up from another major label again.

Considering she released her album in a January with only one moderate single I think 375k was really good for her. Hicks released his just in time for the holidays and he didn't even sell twice what Katharine did. She should've put it out 6 weeks earlier and earned herself another 100k sales.

David Archuleta isn't/never will be Justin Timberlake. Davids only good at singing slow mids and ballads. He can never do no Justin Timberlake. Just had to point that back out but back to Katharine McPhee.

That to me should've been released instead of love story. Cause with promotion and a hott video this could've been big!
