The soundtrack is also amazing, which features some songs by M.I.A. and a nice remix of Paper Planes.
I cried during the end because it was so tense and all of the difficulties the main character suffers will keep you emotionally exhausted. It is entertaining, original and powerful. You must watch this in the cinema.
The ending is symbolism. It's pure Bollywood. The cartoonishly beautiful woman who plays his girlfriend is another Bollywood signature.
Bingo. I haven't even seen it, and I could have figured that out.
The truth is, I haven't seen a lot of Oscar contenders. Saw TDK and Wall-E, but I still haven't seen Ben Button, Slumdog, Milk, Frost/Nixon, The Wrestler (which is most damning) and Rev Road. The Wrestler and Ben Button are at the top of my list, but Slumdog's not far behind.
I dont like the end at all, why dance? it ruins the whole serious movie.
I know, I felt like that because the emotion changes abruptly but I understand because it's part of their culture, and that's not the ending, that's the credit sequence.

Eh. I've heard some criticisms about Slumdog that have me worried, whereas any criticisms of Ben Button that have come up probably will not phase me as much. I'm still checking out The Wrestler before either, though. Come on, who do you think I am?

I agree... it was out of no where... Like "wait am I watching High School Musical?!?!" lol I have to say the cinematography and the choice of music was on point! Overall good movie

It's common for Bollywood films to feature dance sequences like the one seen at the end of the movie, so it was kind of a tribute from director Boyle to Bollywood.
I loved this movie, when Paper Planes appeared i was so surprised and excited! And the remix is amazing It's truly entertaining, the child actor who plays Jamal is outstanding, and.. it's a great movie, i do agree though that it contains some stereotypes about Indian culture and situation, but it's a wonderful movie.
