Transgenders will tell their 2 kids who is the father/mother
'Young kids are accepting and non-judgemental': Transgender couple prepare for telling their two children that their father is actually their mother and vice versa
- Nick, 27, who takes on the role as their father, is actually their birth mother
- Bianca, 32 - the woman they called mother - is actually their father
- The couple have two children - Kai, now three, and Pax, almost one
- Still have original sex organs - cannot afford reconstructive surgery
Bianca and Nick Bowser are a happily married couple and live in Kentucky with their two young sons , Kai, now three, and Pax, almost one. Nick fell pregnant with Kai in 2010, but struggled to cope with living as a man with a baby bump

Bianca, who was born Jason, transitioned 13 years ago, and had breast augmentation in 2003, as well as laser hair-removal, but didn't need female hormones because she naturally looks and sounds feminine

And this is news how? I guess it would make for a good sitcom situation because it's so unheard of and out-of-the-ordinary, but other than that there's not a whole lot going on.

That's crazy, I'm sort of confused how that works though. 
Aren't they technically straight then?

They are heterosexual, but they're still transgender. Sexuality and gender are completely different.

If they had the sex reassignment surgery then they are basically a normal heterosexual couple.
Everything else is extra.
edit: Wait, I read the other bullet (which was pretty extra).
I still don't get how this is news.

Well considering Trans people are 'trapped' in the wrong gender's body, then they're technically straight.
Unless you implied the way they had sex then maybe they didn't, I'm not sure ...

That will put the kids in a a tough position as they grow older but hopefully, the world becomes a little bit more accepting by then. Kai are adorable.

Awesome parenting! The kids come first. Hopefully later on in life they could have the surgery needed, but it doesn't seem to be an issue for them. What a great and inspiring story.
Although transgender is included in the GSD (or LGBT acronym), they aren't a sexuality. They are a gender, hence....transgender. You can be transgender and gay, transgender and straight, transgender and bisexual, transgender and asexual, there are no limits.
One more thing, trans is Latin and translates to "on the opposite side" and that's why a transgender feels as though they are in the wrong body, the wrong gender, the opposite gender.

Surgery doesn't make you anymore of the gender you are. I know trans girls who dress like guys, have a penis, are masculine, havent transitioned at all, etc. and are still referred to as she.
