In a report by The Mirror, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are directors of the company which registered the band's trademark.
Documents found by the newspaper show they, along with bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, own 'a 50 per cent stake in the profits with a 10 per cent share each in the company'.
The news may irritate fans after being encouraged to support them by the chart-toppers.
The Australian act- Calum Hood, 18, Michael Clifford, 18, Luke Hemmings, 18, and Ashton Irwin, 20 - are frequently mentioned in their tweets and have featured on their sold-out world arena tour.
Clearly, the plan has worked because the band recently topped the Billboard 100 in America, which is considered the ultimate success chart.
A spokesman for 1D responded by saying: 'We do not comment on the band’s finances.'
I think it's true.
Liam and Louis are confirmed to own their trademark and all the other members promote 5SOS just as much. They're definitely making money off of 5sos, all of them.
I doubt it. They're not even signed to the same label and if this were true 1D's net worth would be a lot bigger than it really is.
they're under the same management tho and were the ones who discovered them and took them under their wing. Plus they only just started out releasing music this year.
If this is true, that's almost usury and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
1) No it's not?
2) I'm pretty sure 1D's lawyers and accountants can handle their business transactions a bit better than you know how.
3) Why are you always in 1D threads spouting stupidity? Begone.
