The alternate ending for Amazing Spider-Man 2, which can be found via this link (for the moment anyway), resurrects Richard Parker, Peter's father. An older, bearded Richard shows up at Gwen Stacy's grave, surprising Peter, because he was supposed to have died in the plane crash at the beginning of the Marvel superhero film.

The father and son sit down to talk about what's transpired, with Richard explaining to Peter that he had to disappear to elude Oscorp and protect his family, especially Peter. Richard also acknowledges that he isn't the person to save the world, but that Peter is that individual. As such, he gives the "With great power..." line to Peter, which may irk fans because it's traditionally a line delivered by Uncle Ben (but notably wasn't in the first TASM movie).
