Interestingly, the W8 is the first Windows Phone to support Voice over LTE (VoLTE), which is once again yet another feature of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, making this phone highly likely to ship with the update on board.

A 710 is WP7. WP8 is a hundred times better than that with App support and exclusive tech.

Though still lagging in app count, most of the essentials are there.

Also Cortana, though released late in the game has been garnering unanimous praise and is called the best personal assistant among the three giant Mobils OSes.

The HTC One is great (and the critics do agree) but how is making a WP8 variant going to help HTC when they already barely had enough money to build and market the Android version?

They're practically hemorrhaging money and jobs.
Making another version for WP8 of all OSes is just going to suck even more money out of them for something that is going to sell like Nelly Furtado's last album.

I really wish they would just focus on marketing the One as a BRAND, instead of flooding the market with One Minis and One Maxes and One Megas and One W8s and One WhateverS.

Just because the One (probably a reference to how many units they sell per hour) is in Metal doesn't justify the reviews it's getting.

It's uglier than last year's model. It's too big for a 5 inch phone and only has 4 megapixels...

You need to take the nearest of seats. Have you even used the One M8? It's amazing and well deserving of all the great reviews. Just because it doesn't have an 875 MP camera like a Nokia or Samsung doesn't automatically make it bad. I suggest actually using one for an extensive amount of time before judging them, and for what? Simply because they happen to be in last place out of all the big manufacturers?

HTC may have had bad quality control a few years ago, but they have definitely turned things around since the introduction of the One. It's going to take some time for them to win back the goodwill of the masses (especially with Samsung and Apple being heavy-hitting marketing machines).

Also, your opinion on its looks are 100% subjective. Many consumers and critics alike adore the look of the One and the One M8. I've gotten more compliments on my M8 from friends and randoms than I've ever gotten with any other phone I've owned.

This phone is such a headturner, I love showing it off
