The new Ninja Turtles movie is released on 11 September, or 9/11, in Australia and to promote the movie, they posted the following movie poster on Twitter
After receiving complaints about the date in combination with the Turtles jumping out of an exploding tower they have now removed the image from their Twitter
I feel like Americans are over-sensitive to the whole 9/11 issue. I do not want to sound disrespectful, and I know that many lives were lost in this pointless act of terrorism, but it is sad that attacks on a bigger scale are forgotten - with no museums, yearly memorials or media attention. Yes, we should never forget those who died in the attacks, but we should never forget any life lost in terrorism - whether they are American or Arab, British or Israeli.
TMNT always features scenes of action and I believe that this was purely coincidental, especially given this is the Australian release date and not the American one.
It doesn't resemble it to me but its still messy I doubt it was intentional but if you're releasing something on September 11th you have to be very careful and I'm surprised the studio didn't notice this before they got backlash
People are so sensitive my god but they should have known better at least they are fixing the problem.
And at least my baby Noel Fisher is still getting his check
