BEYONCE as a normal release...
Would it have sold less without the surprise release stunt, orr would it have sold more because the era would have had more time to build up?
Discuss.

Less, but it still would have sold a decent amount.

I was thinking about this one day - probably no impact at all just another "4" era.

Single sales would've been much better. Album sales might've been a bit less.

It would've been a lot less. The album would sell less than 4 but DiL would've still been a top 10 hit

Just as big. 2013 was the year of Beyonce. The Superbowl spot still exposed her in a huge way, with proper promo and releasing DiL as the lead...
Yeah Bey would've sold at least 500k.

I think it's a really great album but the hype definitely sold it and got it that metacritic score.

I'm so sick of ATRL an it's obsession over discrediting this album with "if" and "buts"

ALOT MORE!
Singles sales would have been considerably greater as well.
These other gworls should thank the QUEEN for showing a biT of mercy by doing this surprise release.

Beyonce is not used to selling less than 200K of her new album during the opening week even when her lead singles are not radio hits or digital hits. You tried.
BEYONCE would have still sold a decent amount in the range of 350K to 400K.
