The General Public agrees this this is Beyonce best album and by the scores it rank the most critical Acclaim by any pop girl.

Hype garnered by the iTunes release. Not the music.

Only because it was a surprise visual album.
Its not even Beyonces best nor does it best other albums of that year. The album was overrated

4 is her best album

It certainly doesn't deserve the praise it got. Can name a handful of album that were released last year and this year that are miles better than it.

Well if the GP loved it so much then it would have sold a lot more. It's close to dropping off in all major markets and only proved to sell decently in the Anglosphere.

And don't say it was because she didn't get any hits because Lana didn't and she is still charting on the UWC 2.5 years later despite the lack of hits. It's just a charmless minimalistic album.

Purely hype, it's her worst along with DiL in my opinion.

Half the album is pretty bad musically, imo. The GP/critics just believe it's actually a quality, meaningful and personal album written by Beyonce herself, because of songs like Flawless, Pretty Hurts, and Blue. But we all know a bunch of other people wrote it, and they threw in a feminist speech from Youtube on one song.

But even objectively, it's just a GREAT album. Some of the tracks take their time, but when songs like Superpower and Blue hit you it's just...

I can't stop listening to it even now. And the videos are just a bonus.

Thats why its to this day is still making best off list
