The last breakup I went through, I just listened to music and took a long hot shower and just kind of thought about everything; what went wrong, the good times, how everything would change now, etc. It helped that I waited until a few hours after it happened to tell my parents and then my dad and I drove around and he just kind of talked to me about it and it helps. It really helps to vent to someone you love about it. And it also helped that I went out with my friends and just enjoyed having them because I know they can't leave me the way my ex did; they'll always be there for me, and spending time with the people that truly love you and going out and trying to have fun and forget about your ex is honestly the best thing to do. Even if it doesn't instantly work, it's better than sitting around moping about how miserable you'll be without him or her, or how angry you are. Moving on and spending time with the people that won't leave you will make you feel better, though. I can assure you of that.
