WITH her second album due out soon, Paris Hilton says she wants to be taken seriously as a singer, on the eve of her trip to Sydney for New Year's Eve - where you can win tickets to party with her.
"I'd love to come and tour Australia some time next year,'' the hotel heiress told Insider during an exclusive chat ahead of her trip Down Under.
"I can't wait to come back to Oz again.''
Hilton, 27, is clearly focusing on music after the break-up of her relationship with Good Charlotte's Benji Madden, who was previously engaged to Australian singer Sophie Monk.
Her so far untitled second album is due in the new year. The first single, My BFF (Best Friend Forever), was released in October and is the theme song for her new TV show, Paris Hilton's My New BFF.
The dance-influenced album, produced by Paramore's Mike Green, will feature a range of tongue-in-cheek pop tracks - including Paris For President, which became a YouTube hit during the recent US presidential election.
Hilton, the daughter of Rick and Kathy Hilton, of the Hilton hotel empire, has admitted her new pop sound was inspired by Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue.
She has said she is a big fan of the Aussie icon and wants her second album to be a tribute to her musical heroine.
"I was really inspired by Kylie Minogue. I love her - I just love that European dance vibe,'' Hilton has said.
Hilton may give fans a taste of her new sound when she celebrates the new year in Sydney.
She and her sister, Nikki, will be guests of honour at the Bongo Virus New Year's Eve party at Kings Cross nightclub Trademark.
Hilton confirmed that she would catch up with local friends, including models Cheyenne and Tahyna Tozzi, as well as Bra Boy leader Koby Abberton.
"I hope Cheyenne, Tahyna and Koby will be in town at the same time as me - they're so much fun,'' she said.
Hilton visited here for New Year's Eve in 2006 and is due to spend a week this time.
"I'm planning on spending a few days in Sydney and possibly Melbourne, but you never know, I might stay longer,'' she said.
"I love Australia, especially over summer.''
The last time Hilton was here, images of her showering in her bikini at Bondi were published around the world.
She is one of the most photographed celebrities in the world but, despite courting attention, Hilton says she no longer believes what is written about her.
And, despite a career based on her family name, she says she is known for being herself.
Although Hilton has translated her name into big money with her own clothing, fragrances and TV career, her music is yet to take off.
