July 17 - Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 - killing all 298
July 23 - TransAsia Airways Flight 222 - killing 48, injuring 10

The media is focusing on them right now. It's like when 10 people die of a disease and the media turns it into a massive outbreak. 10 people out of hundreds of million isn't that many. But when the news focuses on it, they generate fear.
It's most likely a very badly timed coincidence, coupled with the media trying to build up their clicks by creating fear. But regardless, it's still scary af. This is really making me not want to fly international anymore.
MH370 - no one knows what caused that. Pilot suicide is likely but still unconfirmed.
MH17 was brought down by a missile. No fault of the plane
Flight 222 - was a failed emergency landing in bad weather. Possible pilot negligence
Flight 5017 - entered dangerous weather. The pilot requested to divert around the storm due to poor visibility and lost contact minutes later.

At the beginning of the year, Malaysia Airlines was the #34 safest airliner (1 in 10 million chance of crash), while the other two airlines have odds of about 1 in 2 million for a crash. There was a 1 in 14 million chance of these three planes going down this week
