Let's not forget another brilliant thing she did, creating Alizee's whole image.
Which was an art in itself, I can't believe how many people she caught into the whole Lolita persona web.
It was insane how nobody complained about the meaning of the lyrics that she gave this girl.
They were really dirty at times, 'Gourmandises' and 'Moi...Lolita' for example.
Brilliant nonetheless though.

But her discography's flawless, well most of it.

yes its produced byRedone and wasinitialy mae for Gaga and she passed it down because it was indemo mode. then Mylene took the demoand reinvented it and wrote lyrics and bam it became on of her biggest hits! (it spent 3 weeks on top of the French hot 100 which is amazing considering only a few of her tracks spend more then 1 week o top)

I would love to see Mylene collab witheither Stromae or Indila for her next album. I feel like all her albums and songs have charted amazingly and sold a to but that her next era could be her lowest selling one if she dosnt change her formula a tiny bit and accepts to collab with someone contemporary. plus both indila and stromae are amazing songwriers and Stromae has interesting and artist music videos (for a fairly new artist of course)

you know why Blue Noir didn't feel like a Mylene album? its because she didn't work with Laurent Boutonat one anyof the tracks for that album. she had a misunderstanding with him and was mad and didn want to work with him. and she wasn't supposed to work with him on Monkey Me (the albm) but then she felt like the music she was creating with other ppl didnt sound authentic so she called him up and buried the hatchet and started work with him again haha

ya her older music videos with aurent were cinema/movie quality and had such important imagery and messages. was Je Te Rends Ton Amour with him too? its probably one of the most thought provoking and shocking music videos I have seen in like forever

I do suppose Alizee took on the persona and the music very well. It didfit her. I just wished Alizee either stuck by Mylene (her albums kept flopping after she freed herself for creative purposes) or that Myelen kept that stuff for herself. I mean Mylene is known to be a chameleon in terms of her look/persona/music/mv's so Lolita wouldn't be taken as her actual persona but just one of her any different sides/layers.

ya that is something I love about the French media and public. they knw the difference between music/art and the real world. had Madonna or Gaga or Rihanna done a music video that daring they would get picketed non stop by thatwestboro church lol!and the media would turn on them really harshly. with Mylene the French public seem to give her pass since they understand this is her art speaking and her freedom. plusif you restrict an artist like it dosnt seem right. art is supposed to be freedo right? so im glad thefrench public didn't hate on it too much. although the music video did get banned from French tv lol! there was a interview where Mylene was talking about how she hates French censorship had she been in America half of her videography would never be on screen lol so she should be happy haha!

tbh I feel like unfortunately alizee has passed her expiry date in France and even her teaming up with Mylene again wouldn't save her musical career...although I love her but I know it wont work.
I have a feeling Mylene will retire pretty soon and I wish she would take another young artist under her wing and write for them and manage their image the way she did for alizee...it can be her never ending legacy and will keep giving her coins from the percentage of the profit she will get.
