I feel that the public is primarily over Beyonce at this point in time. Her last effort, the surprise iTunes release, is now in free-fall on the Hot 200 with no signs of recovery. Every single that she's released thus far from the project (barring DIL) has failed to chart well. She's since moved onto overexposure via constant (overpriced) touring which her fans have taken to Twitter and other social media outlets to complain about. Her social media power is also fading (as was Britney's as the BJ campaign went on) and she's currently struggling to remain in the top 30 of Billboard's Artist 100 and also has no hit or even top 40 single in sight.
Do you think if Beyonce were to drop another album on iTunes that it would have the same impact of the first or that it would be overlooked as the public interest has begun to wane towards her music? Personally, I believe that touring relevance is not mutually exclusive to musical or social media presence. The industry has been taken by many new girls including Ariana Grande, K. Michelle, Tamar Braxton, Rita Ora, Iggy, and Tinashe. And most importantly, both Taylor Swift and Adele are making their comebacks later this year. Is Beyonce safe?
