I told ya'll, PCs are here to stay. All hail king Microsoft and king Windows! Windows 9 will mark the resurgence of PCs.

The expected decline of the global PC market is expected to shrink down to only 2.9% this year as opposed to 9.5% in 2013, marking a good resurgence of the PC market. The tablet market will grow by 23% to 256 million units which is a relatively slow growth from last year. The mobile market however is still growing at a very strong pace, reaching 1.9 billion shipments by 2014, a growth of 3.1%.

and PC sales are declining. That will change if Windows 9 is like the Vista > Windows 7 situation.

Tablets are cheap trash. They are literally giant smart phones without a phone line.

Phone screens are getting so big that tablets seem redundant

It depends. Android tablets (unless they have a tablet skin) are literally blown up mobiles. Nearly all 7" tablets use the mobile apps. And the rest use tablet apps.

Windows Tablets and iPad's are more designed to be used like a computer, than a phone.
Microsoft and Apple both develop apps on their platforms which are touch friendly versions of their PC counterparts, but aren't limited due to that. Apple's iLife and iWork set are an example of that.
There are well known producers that have used iPad's to produce songs (Greg Kurstin & Luke both mentioned they had used iPad's to finalise some of their songs).
And then Microsoft who make Office etc for Surface which includes Outlook as well for all the business peeps.

And it works for the most part. In high school, I used my iPad for everything. Literally.

Tablets are good for getting quick jobs done, but when it comes down to it you still need a PC
