If Digital Downloads would've started counting in 2000

Just thinking about it makes me wonder how some songs would've performed better or worst if the digital crap would've been started counting. Would Kelly Clarkson have many number 1s? Would Jessica's With You have went number 1? How many top tens would Britney have had?

Well, in 2000, there wouldn't be that much of a difference in the charts, as well as 2001. 2002 might start to shake things up, but 2003 and 2004 is where most of the difference would would. iTunes Store opened in '03 I believe, right? And, then, not very many people were downloading yet. The #1 song sold only about 40k-60k in 2005, compared to the #1 song now that can sell 150k-250k!

But here are some I know would've happened.

P!nk would've gone #1 with DLMGM, and JLAP.

Hilary Duff's CC would've gone top 10, and SY and Fly top 20.

Shakira's WW would've gone #1, Objection top 20.

Clarkson's MI top 5, Low top 30, TTWLI top 50.

Carlton's PB and OD would've gone much higher, and ATM probably #1 or #2.

I don't think they're would have been much of a difference until atleast 2004 as someone said. But mostly all the big hits on the ARC Weekly Top 40 that never really were that big in the US Hot 100 would have been huge.

Just think... those would peak the song's peaks if our Hot 100 was sales only, with no airplay factor.

And, BTW, Me Against the Music peaked at #3 on the Hot Digital Tracks, which did count digital sales before we started counting them officially in 2005. So, that beats the #1 logic.

You forget ONE thing: if the digital sales had started being included on the official chart back in 2000, by 2003 they would be HUGE already. So much for your 'logik'.

But back then radio was actually credible...
