G.U.Y. ARTPOP had been doing fairly well till that with one top 10 single and another almost-top 10 single and sales that were very close to Katy Perry's PRISM. Then that single bombed horribly and the entire era basically ended in favor of a new collab album.
I'd vote Tennis Court, which probably did even more damage, but Lorde's first album (IDEK the name) didn't even have an era for it to kill off. It had one hit single then faded into utter obscurity
Britney Jean was already dead by the time Perfume dropped. Plus, the low sales are what really killed it. 4 was also dead when Countdown happened. Avril Lavigne bombed with Rock 'n Roll, Let Me Go just helped seal the deal and then Hello Kitty danced on the grave. People Like Us and True Love just weren't that damaging and had decent-ish peaks.
Pretty Hurts from BEYONCE should also be on this list. After XO and Partition, that slaughtered any hope the era had of not being frontloaded
