I do not agree with big game hunting like in your article. I think it's arrogant for people to hunt big game just so they can say that they killed something rare, limiting the ability of other people to see such animals down the line.
However, have no problem with hunting game. Hunting can be very beneficial especially if it's an invasive species like feral pigs in Northern California. They destroy habitat of native animals and are destructive to their environment.

Also, I support it in cases where herbivore populations threaten an ecosystem balance. Like Elk in Yellowstone can grow to populations out of control and need their numbers to thin (wolves would ordinarily do this but have been run out of the area) or else they threaten disease spreading and can damage the trees and forests when they excessively wear down their antlers against tree bark. Hunting keeps everything in balance there and I support that especially if the animal goes to use.
