THE WOMBATS will mock LEONA LEWIS at the MTV Europe Awards — with a punked-up version of her super-hit Bleeding Love.
The Scouse indie-rockers have been pipped by the X Factor winner to the title of UK’s Favourite Act.
So they will make their feelings known at next Thursday’s gong-giving in Liverpool by tearing up Leona’s No1 smash and wearing T-shirts bearing the words: We Were Robbed.
A source revealed: “It’s going to be a brilliantly ridiculous performance. I think they’ll steal the show.”
The Bleeding Love massacre isn’t the only attack the band are aiming at X Factor and show boss SIMON COWELL.
They are also bidding to beat this year’s X Factor winner to the Christmas No1 spot with festive offering Is This Christmas?.
It even includes an hilarious cameo by comic LES DENNIS — dressed up as Santa to get into the ho-ho spirit for the Mencap charity single.
Leona is competing to win Best European Act. It's is rumored that the winner will perform but Shiri Maimon (representing Israel) is going to perform a song in english picked by MTV. This was stated by a lot of sources but I'm not sure.
