Sam Smith breaks US record with album

Share0Print.......Sam Smith has made pop music history in the US with his debut album, In The Lonely Hour.
The 15-track LP has sold 166,000 more copies in its first week of release than any other debut album by a UK male artist in the 23-year history of Soundscan.
"IN THE LONELY HOUR IS OFFICIALLY NUMBER 2 IN AMERICA!! I am overwhelmed and truly touched. Thank you to everyone who has purchased it xx," he tweeted. He later added: "We made history x."
Despite the record-breaking figures, the London singer has been kept off the top spot in America by Lana Del Rey's new album Ultraviolence, and will enter the Billboard chart at number two.
However, Sam's single Stay With Me has surpassed sales of one million copies this week in the US alone.
