Music News: MADONNA delivers a legendary show the day of her divorce

So last night at her first of two sold-out TD Banknorth Garden shows (the second is tonight) the Material Girl proved divorce - and increasing age - are no match for her blonde ambition.

There was plenty of time for Madonna to rip Ritchie or talk about how much she loves her kids, but that ain’t her style. Instead she filled any free space with commands her fans to vote for Barack Obama - without the British accent, guess she’s losing that in the divorce. Madge may forfeit her Scottish castle to Ritchie, but she’s not going to forfeit a single fan. Her talent for staying current and recycling her classic hits kept her Boston fans enraptured.

All these confections came wrapped meticulously in a stage show no one can touch - not JT, not MJ, not Pink Floyd: epic lasers, moving video screens, fast and flawless costume changes, all done with grace and energy.

Madonna may not make great movies or marriages but she makes great music. And even in her (almost) golden years she’s still a ray of light.

- She seemed to be in a good mood so i don't think the divorce had her down. However, she has the ability to put things past her and just focus on what she is doing.

- However amazing show! I think it def. beats Confessions out of the water. Confessions might have been better theatrical but for fun and a good time Sticky and Sweet takes the lead.

- I hope it goes down in the set-list that Madonna DID IN-FACT sing over a minute of "American Life" acapella style!

What Madonna didn't talk about was the elephant in the room, her pending divorce from husband of nearly eight years Guy Ritchie. The public announcement came only hours before the concert, one of several stops Madonna will make while on her 2008 Sticky & Sweet Tour.

Wow Mazen, those clips are GREAT!! She sounds really good. "She's Not Me" is such an incredible song...nobody even comes close to Madonna.

I seriously hope the divorce inspires her to actually film a legit video for "Miles Away". It at least has a chance to become a hit now that it relates to her troubled marriage.

YES!! "She's Not Me" has become my all time favorite Madonna song. Believe it or not. It's her best work yet and she does a flawless performance of it on this Tour.

Unfortunately, the video for "Miles Away" is not happening. We need a miracle.

My mom was there! She said it was really amazing!
She got really lucky cause one of her friends from work was gonna go with her sister but her sister got really sick and she gave the ticket to my mom.

I'll see if I can get my mom's camera and upload some of the pics she took.

they don't have the same personnality though they are very much alike

madonna is an extraverty

janet is an introvert

both of them are somewhat alike for a lot of stuff

anyway, Madonna is the best bizness and no one can surpass her professionnal skills

Well, I don't think Madonna is going to get all introspective and dark on us. Her next album will probably touch on the subject of divorce but she's not going to give us another ROL. I just don't think she wants her life to be that somber anymore.

Yeah, just because she's going through a divorce doesn't mean she's going to be all dark and gothic with her next album. I'm even expecting a happier album than Hard Candy. But of course there will be some dark gems like "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" and "Voices".
