Duffy: I’m close to having a nervous breakdown due to fame

duffyDuffy has revealed she’s on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of her sudden rise to fame.

The Welsh singer hit the big time after her second single ‘Mercy’ held the Number 1 spot in the UK charts for five weeks in the early spring. It also reached Number 1 in eight other European countries and reached the Top 30 of the US Billboard charts.

She explained recently: “I thought I was superhuman but there are pressures about being in the public eye.

“I’m borderline on a nervous breakdown. I’m never calm any more. I think: ‘Can I handle this? Do I want to disappear?’

“It would be very easy to become a recluse.”

Poor Duffy. I hope that she can come to grips with things because she is talented. Something that is lacking in the industry today.

Admitting problems is the first step to overcome them. She's a smart girl and she'll be able to handle this just fine.

She's only had one of the biggest selling albums in the UK, debut wise and in 2008. And the album is #3 most sold worldwide.

Not to mention it's been doing great on the US charts!
