Which tour has more success at it's start? I'd say it's pretty close.

Keep in mind that even Katy didn't sell out some shows it still brought the same amount of money and more than artRave, with same/less seats sold.

We'll have to wait and see what the grosses look like when Katy hits up the US and Gaga the UK; ticket prices vary between the two countries. Though I suspect Gaga will be grossing more in the UK since, last I heard, her shows were actually sold out there.
In the long run it'll probably be pretty close though. Gaga will make extra $$ from her Asian dates and a few stadiums, but then Katy will make up for that with extra dates 
Honestly, seeing 1D's $56m gross from only 13 (?) dates so far makes me realize how petty this ArtRave vs. Prismatic Tour battle is. They're battling for like, 3rd and 4th place this year at best.

Hm, with those dates, indeed, Prismatic seems to be the winner
Oh well. The safest thing would be to wait for boxscores from the same country and same city, but it's too far away. We'll see.

The success of a tour is measured by its Gross, and if you take any combination of two of Katy's shows against the two Gaga has, she's still higher except in one. So, Katy.
