How come it is never acknowledged here, or by the media that 50 heavily influenced the song Candy Shop from Madonna. Candy Shop was released by 50 cent in 2005, at the height of his popularity. He was the IT male rapper, and during that time, hip hop and r&b dominated the charts. Then Madonna came in in 2008 with Candy Shop, trying to get into the hip-hop and r&b sound that was popular back then.
I mean the songs have the exact same name, the same hip-hop genere. They have similar lyrics, with "lets go to the candy shop", "come get this lollypop/ ill let you eat my lollypop". Also the time they were released was not too far apart. So why is this overlooked? In my opinion, the influence is right there and obvious. Is it because internet was not that big back then, with no youtube? or is it because Madonna's song has no video? or because Madonna's song never became big? is it because he is a male and black, and she is a female and white? discuss, and no flamebait please.
