Angelina Jolie co-hosts Global Summit To End Sexual Violence in Conflict
We all know Angelina is a beautiful woman and one of the most recognized people in the world. We also know she's a devoted humanitarian who uses her recognition and voice to put the spotlight on others. One particular case she has been supporting for almost ten years is to end sexual violence as a tool of war and her most recent endeavor on this issue is the Global Summit To End Sexual Violence In Conflict.
Saint Angelina started the four-day conference today (Tuesday) which she co-hosts with Foreign Secretary William Hague in London. The conference aims to draw up an international agreement on standards for documenting and investigating sexual violence in conflict zones in an attempt to ensure justice for victims. The hope for a breakthrough in this ongoing battle is big since delegations from more than 100 countries will attend the summit.
You can't underestimate the fact that such a big star is co-hosting this summit. She draws attention to these kind of events by just being there. The public is more aware of it, the media is all over it and it even influences how many countries will be involved.
