It's interesting to finally feel a sense of what the past was having lived some of it, and see the present evolve into the future this rapidly. Old folks are always yapping about "Back in my day" stories, and now I sort of know how they felt.
The new style of music is taking a much different approach of how to sell to people compared to ways of the past. The main difference being a more direct psychological appeal rather than lyrical content or general meaning. The songs are "sweet", uplifting and catchy (even songs about bad subject matters have an upbeat sound these days).
Sex appeal is also taking a much stronger role than it used to in music, and especially on female artists. This point is a little more disturbing to me than anything else, because there are great would-be artists who can write, sing and even play instruments, but because they don't look the part, they have to take a backseat role and maybe do some ghosting for someone who only looks good. Not that I hate artists who mainly look good, I mean look at my avatar

, but the idea of artists being mass produced because it's getting easier might not be such a good thing in the future.
Also to note, I love how more people are starting to discover indie artists, mostly thanks to the internet.
