Why is it ok for him to have said these things, admit it was a mistake, but not do anything about it besides release a half-assed written statement full of excuses? He's teaching people to tolerate this kind of behavior and it's not ok.

It's not about using the n-word. He talked about killing black people and joining an organization notorious for murdering black people, among other things. If you don't understand the issue with this then I don't understand you weighing in on the argument.

I'm a black person who has no issue with the use of the n-word as long as it is used in a non-derogatory way. That wasn't the case here...

I don't need JB to try and act like a role model or a saint, but doing this and pretending like it's ok because it happened years ago is horrifying to me. Is this really how people are going to react to our public figures acting this way?

You actions are everything. It tells people how you think. Despite it happening years ago, he still made light of something that people have lost their lives/been tortured over. Something that still happens today. That's what makes this different then his first little video with the joke. I didn't even care about that. That was nothing to me...

I live in an area where I don't even go running at night because racist white people have killed black men and women just because they can get away with it... and it's considered to be one of the nicest areas to live in my state.
