Taylor's album sales in the U.S. are insane and Adele is Adele so of course they're going to beat her in that aspect like they would with every other pop girl.

I think she'll still have a huge career, a huge album and a huge era. Music isn't a "you can only pick one..." option. People like new music. People want new music. People get sick of their old music. Consequently a lot of the GP who buy one girls album on iTunes are the sorts of people who are going to buy the other 2 girls albums. Yeah, it's always possible that Taylor or Adele will block her from having another Billboard Hot 100 #1 single. But even IF they do block her, and not the other way around, I have no doubt in my mind that she'll be sitting at #2 or #3 anyway.
