When do you start stanning?
I know people stan for different artists for many different things.
But on average, when do or did you start stanning for an artist?
After a song?
Performance?
Music Video?
Controversy?
Following their person life an getting to know them?
ect..
i stan for basically everybody i listen to tbh. if i enjoy their most of their music, i call myself a stan there are like 10-15 people i stan harder than the rest tho
I'd have to actually love their music first... then... After several performances (so I can judge their live abilities) and interviews/BTS'. I only stan for people I consider to be genuine artist and they have to exceptionally talented in my eyes. Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Kanye West, they're standout artists.
I don't actually stan for very many though. I'd say i'm only active with Beyoncé these days, before that it was Madonna, Janet. Kanye West when I was 14, then Marvin Gaye in my late teens. I've been a Michael and Mariah fan my whole life, so it was different with them.
except for with Beyoncé, I was a stan before I even knew what stanning was. I used to record her music videos from my tv onto a VHS tape so I could watch it over and over and learn the choreography
I knew I would stan for her after I finished hearing my first album from her (Butterfly). Though the song "Butterfly" instantly made me a lamb And I bought her album out of curiosity
For Katy and Imagine Dragons it was after hearing California Gurls in 2010 and Demons in 2012. For Skylar it was after she performed on American Idol. So it depends for me.
The day I really took notice of Beyoncé was at the 2006 VMA's when she performed RTA.
I was in awe with how much energy she had as a performer, and she jut kept serving as the eras went on.. There was really no one that drew my attention the way she did and she keeps getting better.
So if the discography suits their capabilities on stage, I tend to stan for it. (unless I don't like the discography all together)...
