Because music is so **** now a days.
Recycled edm instrumental drops, no one is releasing "fresh" music and everyone is just copying each other and writing basic bops with no depth whatsoever.

They're saying the same thing in publishing, in TV, in Theatre. So apparently everything's dying.

This is such a mess and a lie. Music is not dying. Stale? Maybe, but if you consider music as only a commercial product that's only alive when it sells then maybe it is "dying" people are making music all the time. The fact that there's years worth of music and people are only concerned with what's brand new. Go find something to listen to. The top 200 of iTunes isn't where it ends and tbh it's not even where it begins.

It's a shame that the gems of the industry are overlooked. They're barely touching the top 20 and as ATRL proves every day, no one seems to care about songwriting these days. Bored of this meaningless poptart crap that everyone's supporting.

Music is not dying, the business model of purchasing and listening is just changing with the rapid use of the internet.

Of course iTunes is stalling, the entire idea of purchasing music a la carte is dated at this point.

What I was trying to explain was the QUALITY of music is dying and the music that is deemed as "brand new" is just recycled beats with the same radio-pop chord progressions.
