This isn't really surprising, it's not just islamophobia though. Prejudice of all kinds exists in Britain to this day.

It has been for a long time, and I think people have been scared to speak up about this. But I'm glad it's finally being put out there.

Hardly surprising when you look at all the newspapers and scaremongering that goes on.

I mean you just had to look at that thread on here about Subway and their halal stores.

Everything I hear from the British people is how sick they are of immigrants.

I must say I have mixed opinions. I mean of course multi-ethnic society is part of life, but when the majority ethnicity of a country becomes a minority in favor of immigrants and foreigners, that's gotta be a tough pill to swallow and takes some serious adjustments. That being said, there is never an excuse for racism and if others are willing to respect the laws of a country and are legally entitled to be there than all power to them.

No surprise here. Weren't they like the original racists?

I'm not really surprised - I think that with each increase in equality/human rights, there seems to be a consequential backlash of intolerance/discrimination to counter it. Has anyone else noticed something like this?

There will always be one or two racists. I guess it really depends how influential they are on you.

In the long term, this will lead to civil unrest (we already saw some of that in 2011 in London, in 2005 in Paris etc...)
