People use this word without the real meaning of it. It is simply the feminine word for "chanteur" which means "singer" in English. Mariah can't even pronounce the word correctly.

Chanteuse means 'female singer' in French.
It's viral now cause Mariah used it in her album title "The Elusive Chanteuse"
