Brazilians are so damn entitled. So ****ing what if the song is lacking Brazilian elements? It's called the WORLD Cup, not the BRAZIL Cup. Ricky Martin's "The Cup of Life" was the official song of the 1998 World Cup which took place in FRANCE and that song didn't have any French influences whatsoever. Anastacia's "Boom" was the official song of the 2002 World Cup which took place in Japan and South Korea and that song was in ENGLISH. Brazilians doing the absolute most as per usual
And if people hate it so much over there, why is it #6 on iTunes?

Everybody wants La La La to be the World Cup song. I had some friends over and we listened to both. We Are One is very ''boring'' for Brazil, it's not that catchy and doesn't embody the country well. La La La (Brasil 2014) fits Brazil so much better, everybody was dancing.

It will end up being bigger than WAO here in Brazil which will be a mess because the official anthem is not LLL

And you can't change a country's opinion. Shakira is one of the biggest international singers in Brazil, so the fact that her song is getting more airplay and success than the official song is not surprising tbh

1) The problem is not the lack of Brazilian elements but that the song is bad.

2) Brazilian sales on iTunes are less than 100 or something like that. It's not a sign people like the song

Actually, if you check Twitter and YouTube, most of the Brazilians complaining are doing so because they don't think the song is "Brazilian enough" just like the Brazilian user above who, along with his friends, didn't think the song "embodied Brazil".
And the song isn't even that bad.

i like both, but why not move on and enjoy this.. it isn't a bad song? it's catchy as hell...

This song is HORRIBLE. Waka waka is surely much better and i don't even like Shakira.
