Im sure that i will get called out on this but i dont care, im gonna be completely honest.

i roll my eyes every time i see a thread on here about one little person making a homophobic or ignorant comment. i feel like the people who are paying so much attention to these idiots should tone it down but these people LOVE the attention and backlash that they get, thats why they say these horrible things in the first place. they are nothing but trolls.

to the gays out there, be gay and be u and live ur life regardless , there are millions of homophobes in the world so u may aswell just go on with ur day and know ur self worth. there is no point in paying mind to every little comment

btw this is not a 'people have the freedom of speech get over it' type of thread, i hate when people say that. i understand some comments are hurtful but ignoring it is a better tactic imo

See I agree people could do with just ignoring the hate but I think it's important we see change and you won't get that by just ignoring their comments.

I agree it brings the trolls the attention they desire but ignoring it won't fix the problem, especially when we're in a time that has proved what confronting these issues can do.

You can't blame the gays, we face discrimination almost everyday ignoring them is not really doing anything. It is always better to speak up your mind. The more they hear us, the more they will realize that we are here and we ain't going anywhere!

Ignorance is a short term fix, but in the long run it can affect the community in a negative demeanor.

If you want to reach full equality, we also need to make sure that the idea that homosexuals & transgenders are disgusting or inhumane is eradicated. The only way to change the mind and the culture is to stand up for what is right, and call out everyone who says something wrong.

I disagree, the best way to tackle discriminatory behavior is to challenge it. I really don't believe in "ignore it and it will go away" because it generally doesn't. I know from personal experience.

Ok sure it's annoying when "social justice warriors" go completely insane over the tiniest thing that could be seen as offensive to some group. However, if it actually is an obviously offensive comment then the best thing to do is to challenge and highlight that person and what they are saying.

So when homophobic laws come up we shouldn't fight them. Just lay down and take it. Y'all are weak man
