It always seems to be in the news here atm. Given there's been a few recent notable cases which has fuelled the media attention even further but it's always been an important issue here. What really annoys me is that the focus is always on women and men are ALWAYS the perpetrator. Violence happens to both sexes. When I brought it up in a conversation I was scoffed at and almost laughed at, cause the mere thought of men on the receiving end of violence is unthinkable.

I watched a video in my Theology class called 'Girl Rising' and I saw that some girls in foreign countries are still being treated like property, being sold into marriage at young ages, and being unable to get an education without getting castigated. I think we should put more effort

So we are fighting for the end of voilence against women (which I totally support) while we applaud when a woman hits a man?

There's a huge double standard. I was watching Sunrise and the same panel that just the week before was up in arms over an attack on a woman, were applauding Solange saying Jay must've done something to deserve it.
