Everytime i see old gay guys they are alone , it scares me that this is a reality for so many gay people. Like most of them don't even have any children so they are alone without a family of their own. Does is scare you guys aswel that this is so common among older gay guys, i would hate to grow old alone like that. I'm kind of bi so sometimes ii think i will just get married to a girl and have my own family after dating guys till about 30. Do any of you guys also feel this way?

I'm not scared of it at all. But if I don't have kids at a certain point I'd probably be afraid of it then. Being a father is kind of one of my main goals in life.

Well old gay men went through a hell of a lot more strife growing up than this generation will ever endure. Many of those gay old men had a wife and have kids too. They dealt with most of the oppression and many of them didn't come out till they were like, 35-40.

The future for us seems more promising, but of course, it'll never be as easy as the hetero's have it.

You can always adopt. There are parentless kids out there.

I think that everyone has that fear. Despite their gender, or their sexuality.

Yes, all the all old gays that I know (+40) are along, sad and don't have anyone so little worry about my future but I just got a new bother and I'm 21 so he is like my baby now.

I feel like when I hit 35, I will naturally think about someone to pass my belongings and memories to.

The reason why older gay men seem alone is because it wasn't acceptable for two gay men to raise children until recently and they were not able to live their lives openly without fear of prejudice when they were your age. As time goes on you will see more older gay couples with children and even grandchildren.
