That's not all completely true. MDNA and Confessions had some darker songs on them as well.
I think in general this has become a trend for many female pop singers.
Like J.Lo for example. 10 years ago she was releasing these beautiful romantic mid-tempo songs, and now she's singing "i luh ya papi".
