When a couple group like Alex and Sierra or Karmin start a music career together, is it a bad career move?

Not necessarily. The Civil Wars have done very well for themselves (even though they split up and refuse to talk to each other any more
)
Edit: Oh wait you meant duos that are in a relationship. I guess it depends.
