I really don't know what he's doing, what direction he's headed in musically, etc.
This is his new single:
It seems like he's trying really hard to follow the sounds made popular by Robin Thicke, Pharrell, and Justin Timberlake instead of being original. He's the man behind the diamond album Confessions and served up hits like these over the years:
He was recently trying to make some fur hat happen similar to the way in which Pharrell's iconic Vivienne Westwood had took the media by storm. He seems so lost musically, image-wise, and is going through a big slump.
What in the hell is he doing on those drums? Yeah the song isn't particularly good, and it's a shame cause Usher can do better. Also, what the hell at those shrill Ceelo vocals.

His singles have been unoriginal for years, it doesn't shock me he's jumped on the latest trend for a hit. It probably won't work. I thought he called himself the Picasso of this generation? Did Picasso copy? Because Usher ain't an artist anymore.

I used to be a huge Usher fan, but then his material became unoriginal and just seemed to copy trends to try to force a hit. This isn't surprising at all.
He's always done retro inspired songs some of y'all are so damn transparent. Listen to Twisted, Take Your Hand, Whatever I Want, the list goes on and on. The song isn't for everyone but it doesn't make it awful. Did any of you even listen to Looking 4 Myself?

Yes. It wasn't a good album. The best songs were the generic pop tracks (like Numb, Scream, and Euphoria).

nnn what kind of delusion? Since when is "Climax" not a groundbreaking, next-level classic? How is that unoriginal?
This just sounds like a Pharrell/Timberland production, but it seems like authentic Usher to me. He's been working his ass off since he was 7. Respect it or shut up.

You didn't listen to the same you're telling me Climax wasn't progressive and risky? sins of My Father? Say the Words? Also as talented as they are, Bruno and Justin did not create the retro sound, MJ and Prince have been doing it for decades.
