This is really true though. I get a warm feeling when I look at clips from people interacting in 96' because its real interaction. I used to go out and play with my friends constantly and not come home until the sun went under, my niece who's 6 years old barely plays outside with friends and watches Netflix instead
I'm getting kinda sick of all these kind of video's though. Next month there'll be another one... And it's overstating the obvious of our new society. Just like everybody went crazy when cd's took over casette's or dvd's became the next big thing. And most normal people still have a bunch of true friends and family, where social media actually improves their relationship. I'd love it if my grandma had a smartphone so I could talk to her more often in my busy life.
This is actually true, it's just that people can't accept the fact that technology is there life. We are so hooked on our electronics and sometimes we can't even go socialize in person. But Technology shouldn't be your life 24/7. You can do other things like go to library, walk to the park with a friend or go out with your family or siblings.
This is ridiculous and seems meant for people who are unable to have a conversation or who have no friends and are unable to get off their smartphones. So many people have a perfectly healthy social life with "real interaction" like there has always been. Social media is great, it allows you to keep contact with people who are far away.
Someone can be lonely and isolated with or without technology. These videos really are dramatic. He makes it seem like you can't do all of those things if you have a cell phone or computer. I get the point but like someone said, there has always been new technology and devices that people are going to say is a problem. It's all in how you use the technology.
I don't know what a lot of you are talking about. Once they aren't forced to put the phone down, most teenagers and young adults I know are constantly looking on Facebook, Twitter - in fact, a guy at work uses his phone anytime he isn't doing something.
Anyways technology like this is only going to advance so instead of completely saying no to it you can provide better answers that tells people we should live a more balanced life. Anyways there are definitely benefits to technology/social media. It opens up community a lot more than what it used to be, although of course over the internet, which I don't personally think is a really bad thing.
