I had to ask this because I was on US iTunes and her album was back in the top 10, and 'Hometown Glory' was in the top 100. I know that she was doing a couple of gigs, but she must have done something big, like has she been doing interviews or something. Any Americans hear please reply, I want her to be huge !
I feel bad for Adele; her success has been overshadowed by Duffy. Adele was supposed to be this massive success this year; (Which she has been to an extent) ..but, not as much as anticipated.
Hometown Glory is such a great song, hope it gets the success it deserves .
I actually bought '19' a few weeks ago, and it's certainly one of my favorite CDs of the year... I love "Chasing Pavements" and "Tired".
I do have to agree, though, that Duffy's success has overshadowed hers... It's like when Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse (both of whom I like) debuted in the US, music channels promoted them both at the same time, but eventually ended up promoting Winehouse more heavily than Lily. Hopefully Adele can do like Lily and not fade from the music scene, cause she's pretty good...
They are both great artists, but one shouldn't be overshadowed than the other. I think Adele has better tracks on the album, but Duffy has atleast 5 stand out tracks. I wish Adele became really massive, and I hope that Hometown Glory blows every other song out the water.
Yeah, Chasing Pavements is a good song. Also, I think that there was more hype for Duffy than there was for Adele. People have been calling her "the next Amy Winehouse" or "Amy Winehouse without the drugs" building up more hype for her. Not to mention Duffy's album was released first here if I recall.
That's my favorite too.
