first year at uni (studying business) and im doing okay (not great but thats not the problem ) - the problem is im not happy? and im wondering if i should change my study.

have you guys ever changed? if so did it work out? and are you supposed to be happy studying what you do?

You are young and if you won't change your study you can regret it your whole life.

you should be really careful with that cause many many students at the first year dont like what they study....i didnt like what i studies either ! but then i loved it and thank god i didnt change it!
it may be a crisis every new student goes through , or it may not fit you....you have the answer nobody else but you must be really careful

im thinking from changing to a 3 year BA to a 1-2 course in computing - i need money as quick as possible not for me but for my family

(sorry about my bad English) You need to know more about the profession before you change to it. You might also get sick and tired of it.
I don't like what I'm studying at my university either, but I didn't change it. I teach myself instead, because most of what they teach at school are useless.

Edit: I'm in China, so things might be different in your country though.

I mean I learn it by myself, with the help of books and internet.

I did Graphic+Interior last year and it was the worst decision of my life, I got my credits and switched to another uni and I'm doing media studies now and I L-U-V it!

I would advise against waiting 2-3 years like other people have suggested If it's truly making you unhappy then it's not the career for you. You can usually tell during the first year. Like during my first year of college I hated waking up early and the excessive amount of homework etc, but I really looked forward to the actual classes, made me want to get up each morning to go learn something new about stuff that I was clearly passionate about. If you don't enjoy at least some of your classes then don't wait any longer
