Well, what do you think about this?
I'ts rating was only for 8.9 Millions and the soundtrack debuted at #3 with 193,130 K comparing with the hit Disnety movie High School Musical.
Example: HSM2, it's rating was for over 17 Millions and it's soundtrack debuted with more than 500K,.
I tought CR could gets more because the movie has Jonas Brothers and a lot of promotion, but it's not... so far,
So Flop???

uhm, hence HSM2 sequel was HUGE due to the growth of the first one.... that was just the first Camp Rock, you cant compare it to the 2nd High School Musical, and it actually debuted higher than HSM1.... so, no its not a flop.

It isn't a flop at all. I don't think any future Disney movie will top the success of HSM or even come close to it. 8.9 million is great for a DCOM and the CD sales are pretty good, too.

I cannot wait for the day when someone can honestly use Jonas Brothers/Hannah Montana/High School Musical and FLOP in the same sentence.

Not to mention, when High School Musical 2 premiered, it was like the week that school was going to start up again, so kids of course, are going to be home. So they had that and the success from the first movie going into it, so it's almost uncomparable.
It's not that bad for a movie to get that much attention, especially during the summer and it had nothing to go off of besides the Disney name and Jonas Brothers fan base.

I don't think it's a flop by any means, but I think Disney was probably expecting it to make more.
I mean, the Jonas Brothers are THE it thing right now. They are like Hanson for this decade. I didn't watch the movie so I can't judge if it's good or not, but I definitely think they were expecting more. The first HSM made around 7 or 8 million which was incredible considering everybody, with the exception of Ashley Tisdale, was a complete unknown. I mean, I know Zac and Vanessa were in like a bad movie or TV show, but nobody knew or cared who they were. The Jonas Brothers are really popular now and they promoted this movie almost as much as they did HSM2, so for it only to make like a million more than the first HSM says something.
I also read overall, within the whole weekend, the movie was watched by 12 million, which is 5 million less than HSM2 made it one day. lol I don't even know why I care, I just found it interesting.

It's not because of timing. (I think HSM2 would of had near 19 million if it premiered in July or June.) It's because it had Jonas Brothers in it. I certainly would of watched it if it starred someone other than Jonas Brothers. They lost about 70% of their male audience. I haven't met a single guy yet who likes them. I know some do, but most don't. So, that's why they lost some. However, they gained some of their female audience. MANY girls love the Jonas Brothers. I know a lot don't, but very many do. That attracted a lot of them. If it had just been normal people playing the three guys, it would of came around 10 million.
However, it didn't flop. It just didn't meet up to expectations. (8.9 million is a great number.) However 190K is horrible. What happened to 300K debut?

I really though Camp Rock wasn't really that good, but is guess statstics called it a hit. I'm jus tired of seeing The Jonas Brothers everywhere.

Sadly it's not a flop. It got a lot of iTunes hits, and 9M is not bad.
